# When a send pauses

> When Geenius Newsletter pauses a send: complaints above 0.1 percent, hard bounces above 2 percent, and only after at least 50 mails.

Sending watches itself. A person still decides what happens next.

## The pause

The check waits until at least 50 mails are in the count. That count is what was sent, plus hard bounces. Before then, the send does not pause itself.

After that, the send pauses when either of these is true:

- Hard bounces are above 2 % of that count.
- Complaints are above 0.1 % of what was sent.

A hard bounce or a complaint suppresses that address. Three soft bounces count as a hard bounce. A suppressed address is never mailed again.

The send screen shows what was sent, hard bounces, complaints and their rates. A publication shows the same for its last 30 sends. Opens and clicks are not counted.

## A stopped workspace

A workspace can be stopped with a reason. While it is stopped, a new schedule is refused, a send already in progress stops, and resume stays unavailable. The screen shows the reason. That stop is not the same as a send that paused itself: a paused send waits for you to look at the list and decide.

## Early access

The rules are built. Sends run in test mode, so no mail leaves the app. See also [Approval and sending](/docs/approval-and-sending/) and [Troubleshooting](/docs/troubleshooting/).
