# Glossary

- **Publication**: one newsletter, with its lists, languages and sending domain.
- **List**: a group of readers of a publication.
- **Reader**: a person on a list. Pending until confirmed, then active.
- **Double opt-in**: signing up, then confirming by a link in a mail.
- **Consent log**: the record of how a reader agreed. Only added to.
- **Issue**: one mail to one or more lists.
- **Approval**: a person's yes for this content and this audience.
- **Send**: an approved issue going out at a set time.
- **Bounce**: a mail that could not be delivered. Hard bounces are suppressed.
- **Complaint**: a reader marking a mail as spam. The address is suppressed.
- **Test mode**: sending that runs without any mail leaving the app.
- **Door**: the connection your own AI uses to work in Newsletter.
